When thinking about an object to create, I looked at the existing Harvard Uni merchandise for inspiration. I really like the idea of creating my own flag similar to this one as I think they are very commonly associated with American football games.
I also looked into the t-shirts they sell on their websites, these are often given away for free at football matches to encourage the crowd to be very vocal. Throughout the match there is a lot of competition between who has the loudest following. It would be nice to create my own t-shirts which were a bit more interesting, it could potentially have one of the anthems printed on the back to encourage the crowd to sing.
I then looked into the band and what they wear/ what stands out the most amongst them. I think the drum is one of the most iconic things and would be something that people associate with the band.
I also found out that a lot of pranks happen throughout the matches and the band help out with orchestrating these. One good example is the one where harvard's team handed out these pieces of paper to the opposing team which without them knowing spelt out 'we suck'.
