OWLCOTES CRIT
For the crit I presented this selection of designs, I wanted people's opinions on which was the best design and which idea to take further. I explained initially that the Logo was for two primary schools merging together therefore their target audience is 3-11 year olds but mainly their parents as they are the ones who chose which school to send their children to. Therefore the logo needs to be professional but not too serious/ grown up. The requirements are for it to be simple, eye catching and recognisable.
The feedback I got was:
The simplistic logo is the best one (the O which has been changed to a simplistic owl's head) as people found this more contemporary and modern. However there was some concern that the primary school wouldn't like this as it isn't a 'stereotypical' primary school logo therefore should be worked on to be less minimalistic and more obvious that is an actual owl head.
It was also suggested that I experiment more with the yellow and blue school colours. As well as taking bits I like from one design and adding it to another.
Typography- look at where the logo is going to be used and analyse the typography which would be better in that situation.
It was also said that the circle design is more recognisable as a school logo as it is more like a badge/ what you would see on a school uniform.
