To get some idea on how to incorporate colour into my design I looked at existing primary school logos that are out there which use colour well. The thing I struggle with most is imagining this logo on a school uniform as I think this is the most difficult thing to transfer from a digital design to a stitched design.
One of the most eye-catching logos I came across was this one for Heckmondwike Primary School and I really struggled to imagine this looking good on an actual school uniform as it is so brightly coloured. I then looked on their website and came across this image of the children wearing the uniform and I think it looks really nice. As you can see the black writing from the digital logo has been changed to white so that it stands out more against the navy blue uniform. It also goes nicely with their white polo shirts.
The colours used formerly for both of the primary schools merging into Owlcotes were yellow and blue therefore I will consider adding these into the new logo.
Despite the brief not mentioning the logo I thought it was important to look into it as it is a potential future development for the logo I make.
