the main sort of imagery associated with art galleries is the frames that they use to display their pieces of artwork in, these are usually gold and very extravagant in design and texture.
Statues and sculptures are also a popular thing to be seen in galleries and are one of the things that stand out the most amongst lots of art as they are large and very imposing. Most sculptures are very muted in colour and often focus on their design and material not just colour. The materials used are often marble or granite so that they are hardwearing and last over long periods of time.
Another common thing seen in galleries is benches/ similar sort of seating for people to sit down and soak in the art work. I think these are one of the nicest things about gallery spaces as they are very relaxing.
