brief: create a graphic outcome to combat these actions, T.A: our age as we use our phones the most.
Looked at stats and fact to support her argument.
Also looked into social events and things she likes such as going to bars.
Decided to make a 'pop up bar' called speakeasy which was used in prohibition america as a term for illegal bars
Put down your phone and pick up a drink
Using hands to interact with others rather than picking up your phone
Menu = drinks named after puns e.g. 'message in a bottle'
Creating a deck of cards that people would play with in the bar which has the same branding on
as well as badges, posters and billboards.
Question derived from research which was the starting point to all of her ideas. "Are we losing our connection with each other?"
Looked at the cafe 'Stories' and really liked the name so wanted something similar.
Colour: wanted something punchy, youthful and fun. Looked at bright colours that complimented each other.
Didn't want to do something too serious therefore went with something she enjoyed and was familiar with.
Ageism
changing the stereotypical views of older people, such as frail, useless, etc.
looking into national treasures that are older such as David Attenborough. If people love him why cant the respect more older people?
Making a poster campaign
Making placards as though there is a protest against ageism.
looking at symbols that suggest elderly such as walking stick and spinning it to mean something else.
Decided to do this for Age UK as he thought this would make it more recognisable and become more professional.
It is possible to make a campaign for an existing charity or association.
looked at The Smudge magazine and Antony Burrow for typography.
