Booklet design
I took inspiration from the ASOS magazine and used a coloured text box with a white border to make it easier to read and put focus on the text. I added a little illustration of asparagus in the corner, however I feel it gets lost and I want to put more focus on my illustrations therefore I decided against this idea. I chose the colour grey and green as they are calming colours therefore relieve people of stress which I believe will make them more willing to plant their seeds and persevere with them.
I removed the text box colour and instead changed to text colour to blue, another calming colour. I have condensed the text and used one simple illustration as a focal point, I really like this design but the booklet would have to be very long as it doesn't allow much writing to feature on each page therefore I need to come up with a design which allows quite a large amount of text to be on each page.
I reduced my point size and changed the font into futura as this is what font I will be using throughout. This font in 10 point doesn't take up much space on the page therefore still leaves a bit of room around the edges as 'breathing space' so doesnt seem too packed and difficult to read.
I want the illustrations on the page to be more 'growth' related to give people hints and pointers as to how to grow their crops through the means of visuals rather than just text.
I drew a fridge/ freezer as a few of the seeds need to be chilled before planting therefore this acts as a prompt/ reminder.
I also drew little pots which are required to grow the seeds in, I think this will help people and remind them which sort of pots they should buy and use.
I also did some sketches to represent the growing process, I thought this would encourage people to stick it out and persevere with germination process and grow seedlings.
