underground ads

As we have to create an ad for the London underground I decided to look into existing advertisements. The size of the design is 1200 x 1800 mm therefore it is rather large. I don't think I have ever design something so big before therefore looking at as many examples possible will help.



A common thing to be seen advertised on the underground is albums as a lot of people listen to music and use their phones on the tube therefore it makes sense to advertise these here. I really like this album poster design and think they have used the negative space well. It is very simplistic and minimal but this pastel pink square draws attention and makes the poster pop.




I also came across this image which shows a selection of posters displayed together. As you can see there's a lot of ads at once therefore I need to create something which stands out amongst the competition. A lot of the imagery used is photography based and often uses minimal text or something short and straight to the point.
