flags

Inspired by the flags for sale on the harvard merchandise website, I thought I would create my own which could be used at the matches to support the team and the band.




I started off by creating a basic flag which had some of the lyrics from one of their famous anthems on it. I thought it would be nice to encourage the crowd to sing along when the band was playing.








I then thought about the fact that the flag would need the team name on it to show that it was been sued to support harvard's team.




I thought the background was too dark therefore I faded it out and and duplicated it to make it seem more of a pattern.




I then tried to focus on the harvard design to make this the main feature, I wanted people who caught a glimpse at the flag to know it was in support of harvard university. Whether it be displayed in cars, bedrooms, or at the side of the pitch.



I then incorporated the H from the harvard drum as I think this is an iconic part of their history and something people are familiar with seeing.



I then played around with it a bit more. I decided that the flag needed to be completely different to the one already available and offer a new purpose. I decided to continue with the song lyrics idea as I think this makes it more useful.
