I did some quick idea generation in my notebook to get an idea as to where I wanted to go with this brief. These ideas consisted of the recycling logo and trying to tie that in some how. I also wanted to focus on the mosaic pattern from the existing LAU logo as I think this is a very important part of the university and it's history. As the sustainability logo is connected to the logo and will be used for the uni I wanted something that was instantly associated with it and people would recognise as part of Leeds Arts Uni.
I then thought about the text and how this could be made to look more natural/ earthy by having plants/ leaves growing from it. I thought this was a nice subtle touch which could be added to a logo for a simple effect.
